10 percent of the overall school population is anticipated to arrive in private passenger vehicles operated by parents and/or relatives.
15 staff members per school (45 total) for the 3 high schools.
➢ High school students are prohibited from driving vehicles to the school
Based on the foregoing information, and review of the existing peak hour traffic counts, it has been determined that the critical peak hours for analysis are as follows:
7:00 AM-8:00 AM. Since the 3 high schools will commence at 7:15 AM with respect to morning arrivals.
3:30 PM-4:30 PM. During this hour in the afternoon there will be minimal traffic generated by the schools but represents the street peak hour, which is approximately 40-50 percent higher than the traffic volumes from 7:00 PM-8:00 PM.
The following Table illustrates the anticipated AM peak street hour (7:00 AM-8:00 AM) and PM peak street hour (3:30 PM-4:30 PM) traffic generation based on the number of buses anticipated, the number of staff at each school, the number of parents/relatives dropping off children, etc.
