Full-time employees are eligible for ten paid holidays per calendar year, with eight hours of holiday pay for each recognized holiday. An hourly employee who works on a recognized holiday receives eight hours of holiday pay in addition to straight-time pay for hours worked. An eligible full-time employee who is not scheduled to work on the holiday receives eight hours of holiday pay, subject to the attendance requirements below. Holiday pay does not constitute hours worked; therefore, it is not included as hours worked for overtime purposes.#

Agency Holidays:

New Year's Day, MLK Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Indigenous Peoples' Day/Columbus Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day

  • Employees working full-time in Direct Support (Direct Support Professionals, Program Assistants and Assistant Residential Managers) will be required to work holidays throughout the year.
  • Employees who are scheduled to work on the holiday and fail to work the holiday will forfeit holiday pay.
  • Employees who are scheduled off the holiday, who fail to work their regularly scheduled shift(s) the day preceding and the day following the holiday, will forfeit holiday pay.
  • Employees may exchange a religious holiday (i.e., Christmas) for a different religious holiday with the approval of the Chief Executive Officer.

H. LONGEVITY BONUS

In recognition of dedication and service to the people we support, employees are eligible for a bonus upon the completion of five years of full-time employment and annually thereafter, subject to annual inclusion in AIM’s budget. Longevity bonuses will be paid in the amount of $100 per year of service for qualifying employees.

Should an employee change status to Part Time or Per Diem upon completion of 5 years or resign from their position at the Agency, they will cease to accumulate benefit and longevity (years of service) time. With reinstatement of Full-Time status within 1 year from date of status change or resignation, longevity (years of service) time will again begin to accumulate for the purpose of the longevity bonus, PTO, and other benefits. Longevity reinstatement after one year is at the discretion of the Chief Executive Officer or designee.

XXI. PART-TIME BENEFITS

PTO: Part-time employees may begin receiving PTO upon completion of their first year of employment and may receive up to 32 hours of PTO annually on their benefit date. PTO must be used during the benefit year in which it is provided. Unused PTO is forfeited at the end of the benefit year and is not payable upon a change in employment status or separation from employment. These PTO rules do not reduce or replace any separate rights an employee may have under New York Paid Sick Leave or another applicable law.

PTO is paid at the employees' current base rate of pay. PTO may not be used prior to accrual. Employees do not accrue PTO during unpaid time and leaves of absences. You may be required to use PTO instead of unpaid leave during Family and Medical Leave.

Holiday Pay:

Part Time Employees who work on a holiday will receive 1 hour of holiday pay per hour worked on an Agency recognized holiday, up to 8 hours.

XXII. PER DIEM BENEFITS
