Section 2: Secondary school

HEAR uses this information to check if you attended a DEIS (Delivering Equality of Opportunity in Schools) school for five or more years of your secondary school education. The Department of Education and Youth compiled the list of DEIS schools. In order to assess your application, HEAR needs your permission to contact the Department of Education directly to verify your DEIS School attendance(s). In order to do that you must enter your Personal Public Service (PPS) Number.

If your information cannot be verified by the Department of Education, you may be asked to provide documentation from your secondary school(s) detailing your DEIS school attendance. To complete this section of the form, select the county where you went to secondary school and then the school you attended. If your school is not listed, select My School is Not Listed.

• Check the official name of your school.
• If your previous school was outside the Republic of Ireland, select: School Outside of Republic of Ireland.
• If you attended more than one secondary school, enter the details of the previous school(s) you attended.
• Enter the number of years you attended your secondary school(s).
