2.6 Green Wedge (e) Between Glenfield towards Beaumont Leys, Anstey and Groby
GLE030 is a cross boundary site connecting to allocations in Charnwood and Leicester City. It would be a requirement for the development to be planned comprehensively with these other areas. It is understood green wedge would be retained in Charnwood that would extend to the built-up area of the allocation. Development of the area within Blaby District may occupy the majority of the land and affect the functionality of the parcel.
Negative impacts to Purpose1 (preventing the merging of settlements) and Purpose 2 (Guiding Development Form) from Moderate, to None/Weak (some contribution could potentially be retained depending on the detailed layout). Potential for biodiversity and green infrastructure to be incorporated into the development to retain some contribution to Purpose 3 (Green Lung), as well as some publicly accessible open space which could improve the contribution to Purpose 4 (Recreation Resource).
N/A. Only one site is within the parcel.
