Negative impact on Purpose 1 (Prevent Merging of Settlements) and Purpose 2 (Guiding Development Form) however not so significant as to affect the scoring of the parcel.

  • WHE032 occupies a triangular shaped piece of land between the Recreation Ground to the East and Whetstone Way to the West. Whetstone Way restricts further encroachment into wedge westwards and also serves as a clear defensible boundary. Development would reduce the space in this particular location, however the development to the North and South is all part of Whetstone, and is linked further to the East. The site does not include specific green infrastructure or ecological features although Whetstone Way is a candidate Local Wildlife Site. The land would not affect the open space designations of Whetstone Way or the Recreation Ground adjacent.

The site is not considered to significantly impact upon the contributions to the Green Wedge purposes to affect scoring of the parcel.
