  • LITO22 – Located on the East edge of Littlethorpe. Development here would reduce the space between this settlement and Whetstone. Agricultural fields and Whetstone golf course and agricultural fields would remain in situ to maintain a functional gap.

Scoring Impact:

The development would have a negative impact on Purpose 1 (preventing merging of settlements) and is considered significant enough to change the scoring from Strong, to Moderate/Strong for the parcel. The development would have a negative impact on Purpose 2 (guiding development form) to a degree, however it is not considered to result in a significantly less defensible boundary in this location than that currently defined by the edge of the existing development and therefore does not alter the scoring for this purpose.

Reserve Sites:

  • EWHE001 is triangular shaped site located west of Whetstone Way although would not project further into the wedge than the built development located immediately to the south. As such, there would be an impact upon the openness of the wedge and also the defensible boundary in this location, however it would be relatively minor in the context of the wider wedge.
