- oBLA032 occupies the site of Blaby Golf Course and covers the width of the land between Lutterworth Road and Winchester Road. Development of this area would significantly reduce the separation between Blaby, Whetstone and Countesthorpe. The development would breach the southern boundary of the existing Blaby settlement boundary, however it is feasible a new development could incorporate boundaries of a similar defensibleness to the existing arrangement. The land includes several Local Wildlife Sites in the form of ponds and there are groups of mature trees that could be adversely affected by development. The golf course as a recreation resource would be lost due to development.
Scoring Impact:
Negative impact on Purpose 1 (Preventing the Merging of Settlements), Purpose 3 (Green Lung) and Purpose 4 (Recreation Resource). Impact is considered significant to alter the parcel scoring from Moderate/Strong to Moderate for each of these purposes.
There would be a negative impact on Purpose 2 (Guiding Development Form) however this is not considered to be so significant to affect scoring of the parcel.
Cumulative Impact of Reserve Sites in Parcel
It is considered BLA032 would have the most impact and that the scoring of the parcel would be affected as set out above. EBLA003 would also have an impact, however considered cumulatively it is still not considered to affect scoring further.
Impact of Reserve Sites on Parcel Scoring
Not affected.
