Green Wedge (a) Between Blaby and Glen Parva (Sence Valley) – Parcel B
Purpose Question Assessment
development or is there an alternative? includes some residential properties, however further development around here is mostly severely constrained by the River Sence as well as its associated floodplain. The lower topography of the parcel is considered to further distinguish it from the land to the North and add to its defensible nature. The railway forms a hard linear defensible boundary on the southern edge of this land and is on further defined by its embankment and elevated position. To the West the embankment of a disused railway line provides a barrier to the industrial site beyond, and the River Sence providing a further physical feature in parts. The wedge here otherwise connects into the Soar valley Green Wedge in this direction.
