GOVERNANCE EFFECTIVENESS AUDIT – EMERGING THEMES
Summary Last term, Governing Boards conducted their annual Governance Effectiveness Audits. This enables them to track year-on-year progress and identify gaps, which can inform governance strategies – eg: training and recruitment.Thank you to those Boards who returned a copy of their completed audit to us. This helps us use information around emerging themes to further develop our training programming for you.Following moderation, we have identified some common themes. These show where most boards felt confident, and where further improvement and support are required. Common themes requiring improvement were around complaints management, succession planning, exclusions and suspensions, and a commitment to training.Boards which sent us a copy of their completed forms by the required deadline have already been sent direct feedback regarding these and other areas requiring attention.
