All work on the project has been completed. The Florida Department of Transportation accepted this project from the contractor on February 7, 2020 -- 80 days ahead of contract time!
This project relocated the exit point to I-4 (Exit 261) almost one mile to the north and created a 1.25 mile two-lane ramp that is separated from the mainline travel lanes by guardrail.
The two-lane ramp extends to the previous area where the ramps split to go east or west on I-4. Each ramp lane feeds directly into the existing ramps onto eastbound and westbound I-4, allowing for traffic to get into the correct ramp lane well before the current decision point where the ramp splits to the two directions of I-4.
These improvements will increase safety and traffic flow for southbound I-75 approaching interstate 4.
