• Motorists can expect to encounter crews paving the shoulders and gore areas beginning Thursday, October 15, 2026. This will be accompanied by a flagging operation.
  • Motorists should expect to encounter daytime and nighttime lane closures on S.R. 29. These lane closures will frequently be accompanied by flagging operations and law enforcement presence.
  • Motorists should expect to encounter nighttime ramp closures when entering/exiting I-75 throughout the course of the project. I-75 ramp closures will be accompanied by law enforcement presence and an associated detour.

S.R. 29 and S.R. 90 (U.S. 41) Resurfacing and Road Improvements: FDOT is resurfacing S.R. 29 from north of Wagon Wheel Road to south of I-75, and S.R. 90 (U.S. 41) from south of Southwest Boulevard to north of Thomasson Drive in Collier County. Improvements to both S.R. 29 and U.S. 41 include milling and resurfacing, shoulder improvements and new signing and pavement markings. Additional improvements to U.S. 41 include reconstruction of concrete sidewalks, replacement of curbs and installation of pedestrian curb ramps, and replacement of traffic signal detection loops.

The following activities are subject to change based on weather conditions and other unforeseen circumstances.

  • Motorists should anticipate lane closures throughout the duration of construction.

Work on U.S. 41:

  • Installation of the new mast arm at U.S. 41 and St. Andrews Boulevard is anticipated in early August. More details will be provided as schedules are finalized.
  • Crews are working close to the roadway. Please exercise caution in the work zone, obey the posted speed limits, and anticipate delays. The expected completion date is summer 2026.

DESOTO COUNTY

S.R. 70 from Peace River to Southeast Baker Street: Construction project: Crews will reconstruct approximately 3.4 miles of S.R. 70 within the City of Arcadia. The project includes the installation of new drainage facilities, relocation and addition of sanitary and water and utilities, upgrading traffic signals, reconstructing sidewalks, and installing street lighting in various locations. During construction, lane closures will occur on S.R. 70. Temporary pedestrian pathways are in place while sidewalks
