In accordance with N.J.A.C. 7:8-5.4(b), groundwater recharge can be met by infiltrating the increase in runoff from the 2-year storm event. The proposed GI infiltration basins will fully infiltrate the increased runoff from a 2-year storm event. Therefore, the requirement is met.
In accordance with N.J.A.C. 7:8-5.3 groundwater recharge, stormwater runoff quality, and stormwater runoff quantity standards must be met using green infrastructure (GI). Green infrastructure is defined as a stormwater management measure that manages stormwater close to its source by either treating stormwater runoff through infiltration into subsoil, treating stormwater runoff through filtration by vegetation or soil; or storing stormwater runoff for reuse. The proposed stormwater management design complies with the NJDEP criteria for Small Scale Green Infrastructure as demonstrated below
INFILTRATION BASIN GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE REQUIREMENTS
| GI | Total Tributary Drainage Area (Max 2.5 Ac) | Basin Bottom Elev. (ft) | Lowest Orifice Elev. (ft) | SHWT Elev. (ft) | Separation from SHWT (Min. 2 ft) | Tested Permeability (Min. 1 in/hr) | Test Pits |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2 | 0.62 | 91.65 | 93.65 | 86.79 | 4.86 | 9.9 | 22 & 6A |
