WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that sufficient funding exists and is available for this purpose, in account numbers C-04-55-839-009-929 ($6,856.08) and C-04-55-840-003-929 ($120,623.92); and

WHEREAS, the Township Council has considered the Building Department and Code Enforcement’s need for the above vehicles; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Township Council of the Township of Jackson, County of Ocean, State of New Jersey as follows:

1. That the Township Council does hereby authorize the purchase of the above referenced vehicles with options in an amount not to exceed $127,480.00 from Winner Ford, 250 Haddonfield Berlin Road, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034, an approved Ocean County Co-Op Vendor #B2019-135, which contract term expires 9/17/2020, with a properly executed purchase order.
2. A copy of this resolution shall be forwarded to the Municipal Administrator, Barry Olejarz, Andrew Cheney, Purchasing Department and any other interested parties.

TITLE: RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONTRACT TO MAZZA RECYCLING SERVICES, LTD., FOR DISPOSAL OF TYPE 13 AND 13C RECYCLABLE WASTE

WHEREAS, the Township of Jackson has previously advertised for and received bids for the disposal of type 13 and 13C recyclable waste; and

WHEREAS, bids were received on Tuesday, August 20, 2019, with two (2) bids being received: 1) Waste Management of New Jersey, Inc., in the amount of $67.00 per ton and 2) Mazza Recycling Services, Ltd., in the amount of $81.00 per ton; and

WHEREAS, by virtue of Resolution No. 325R-19, the Township of Jackson awarded a contract to Waste Management of New Jersey, Inc., in accordance with their bid; and

WHEREAS, subsequent to the awarding of said bid, the vendor has not performed in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract awarded to them; and

WHEREAS, the bid specifications also authorize the Township to declare the contract null and void based on the convenience to the Municipality; and

WHEREAS, the Township’s Department of Public Works has advised the Township that, for the convenience of the Township, its’ employees and vehicles, it is appropriate to utilize Mazza Recycling Services, Ltd., for the disposal of type 13 and 13C recyclable waste; and

WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Governing Body to award a three (3) year-contract for Option 1 disposal of type 13 and 13C recyclable waste to Mazza Recycling Services, Ltd., in accordance with their bid submitted retroactive to October 19, 2019; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Township Council of the Township of Jackson, County of Ocean and State of New Jersey, as follows:
