The Group has a separate lone working procedure in place. Employees and Line Managers must familiarise themselves with the content
Individual risk assessments will identify employees that lone work and ensure that effective controls to reduce the risk are in place where appropriate.
Ill health resulting from stress at work will be treated as any other health hazard to which personnel are exposed to whilst at work.
Anyone who is suffering from work related stress will have a stress risk assessment undertaken by their line manager. They can speak in confidence to the HR Department or use the employee assistance program which provides advice free of charge and the opportunity for counselling sessions.
The Management of Sickness Absence Policy should be referred to for more information.
Under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations the Group has a duty to protect the health and welfare of all new and expectant mothers.
Line Managers will be responsible for ensuring risk assessments are carried out on all new and expectant mothers at regular intervals as detailed in the risk assessment policy and procedure located on the intranet.
The Group has obligations under the Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992 to undertake a suitable and sufficient analysis of workstations and associated equipment (hardware, software, environment health related conditions associated with DSE use) provided for use by our employees and to reduce any risks identified.
Display Screen Equipment (DSE for short) covers any device which has an alphanumeric or graphic display screen and includes laptops, touch screens, smart phones, computers and other similar devices.
Working with DSE can cause or aggravate an existing injury through the use of inadequate equipment, improper use of equipment and pre-existing medical conditions.
