WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works has requested authorization to contract for Supplemental Snow Plowing Services commencing January 1, 2003 should snow plowing services become necessary prior to the finalization of the 2003 budget; and

WHEREAS, Jackson Township previously advertised for the receipt of bids on December 3, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. for Supplemental Snow Plowing Services by 2003; and

WHEREAS, said advertisement for the receipt of bids was the second such advertisement and Jackson Township rejected any and all bids due to the unit prices listed being unreasonably excessive; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-5(3) the Township Committee authorized the Director of Public Works to negotiate a contract for Supplemental Snow Plowing Services; and

WHEREAS, the following snow plow contractors are capable of providing Supplemental Snow Plowing Services until a contract for Supplemental Snow Plowing Services can be negotiated:

WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works has recommended that the Township award contracts for Supplemental Snow Plowing Services to various vendors should the need arise prior to the finalization of the 2003 budget; and

WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that funding is available is available for this purpose in an appropriation in the 2003 Temporary Budget - Account #3-01-26-300-020 (as needed and agreed to); and

WHEREAS, now it is the desire of this Township Committee to act upon the recommendation of the Department of Public Works.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Mayor and Committee of the Township of Jackson, County of Ocean and State of New Jersey, that the Department
