WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Jackson Township Police Department to apply for this grant in an amount to be determined at a later date; and

WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Township Council to apply for said grant funding.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Township Council of the Township of Jackson, County of Ocean and State of New Jersey, that:

1. The Jackson Township Police Department is authorized to apply for the Cops-In-Shops College Fall Initiative 2016-2017 grant program in an amount yet to be determined. The Mayor and/or his designee are authorized to sign or issue any appropriate documentation to give effect to the within resolution.
2. Upon the adoption of this resolution, the Clerk is authorized to forward a certified copy to Municipal Administrator, Chief of Police, Officer Mark S. Rodina, CFO, and any other interested parties.

TITLE: AUTHORIZE THE EXECUTION OF A “RIGHT OF ENTRY” AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE TOWNSHIP OF JACKSON AND THE OCEAN COUNTY MOSQUITO EXTERMINATION COMMISSION FOR THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT HAWKIN ROAD AND KENNETH LANE, BLOCK 18202, LOTS 85 AND 86 IN THE TOWNSHIP OF JACKSON

WHEREAS, in an effort to maintain the high quality of life for the residents of Ocean County, the Ocean County Mosquito Control Commission has identified an area within the Township of Jackson which is presently conducive to mosquito breeding; and

WHEREAS, the Commission has determined that in order to alleviate potential mosquito breeding, certain drainage control activities, generally consisting of excavating and redefining the existing ditch/or restoration activities, is required within the vicinity of Hawkin Road and Kenneth Lane (Block 18202, Lots 85 and 86) within the Township of Jackson; and

WHEREAS the Commission is requesting authorization to enter the property for the ingress and egress of equipment and employees, as necessary, to complete the mosquito-related activities, waterway maintenance and/or restoration in accordance with the “Right of Entry Agreement” attached hereto as “Schedule A”; and

WHEREAS, this Agreement shall authorize the Ocean County Mosquito Control Commission access to the property to perform the necessary mosquito related activities and/or restoration to the waterway continuous to the subject property.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Township Council of the Township of Jackson, County of Ocean and State of New Jersey as follows:

1. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute and the Township Clerk to attest to the “Right of Entry Agreement” between the Township of Jackson and the Ocean County Mosquito Extermination Commission.
2. A copy of said Agreement will be kept on file in the Township Clerks Office.
3. Certified copies of this resolution shall be forwarded to the Ocean County Mosquito Extermination Commission, Administration, Municipal In House Engineer, Daniel Burke, Director of Public Works, Fred Rasiewicz and any other interested parties.
