TITLE: AUTHORIZE THE ACCEPTANCE OF THE 2017 AREA PLAN CONTRACT PROGRAM GRANT FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF RECREATION AND SENIOR SERVICES THROUGH THE OCEAN COUNTY OFFICE OF SENIOR SERVICES

WHEREAS, the Jackson Township Department of Recreation and Senior Services previously applied for the 2017 Area Plan Contract Program Grant through the Ocean County Office of Senior Services; and

WHEREAS, the Township of Jackson has been awarded a grant in the amount of $22,700.00 for this purpose and said funding will be utilized toward information and assistance at the Jackson Township Senior Center; and

WHEREAS, the Ocean County Office of Senior Services has identified the following priorities in their 2017 Area Plan which includes improving access to available services, promote healthy aging, foster greater independence for frail older adults, support family caregivers and advocate at the local, State and Federal levels.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Township Council of the Township of Jackson, County of Ocean, State of New Jersey that:

1. The Jackson Township Council acknowledges receipt of the 2017 Area Plan Contract Program grant through the Ocean County Office of Senior Services in the amount of $22,700.00.
2. Certified copies of this resolution forwarded to Administration, Chief Financial Officer, Jackson Township Department of Senior Services and any other interested parties.

TITLE: AUTHORIZE EXECUTION AND ACCEPTANCE OF SUBRECIPIENT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE TOWNSHIP OF JACKSON AND THE STATE OF NEW JERSEY DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AFFAIRS/SANDY RECOVERY DIVISION IN THE AMOUNT OF 193,603.00 FOR THE “MATCH GRANT PROGRAM – SUPERSTORM SANDY RECOVERY EFFORTS”

WHEREAS, this program is intended to provide funding for some or all of the FEMA Public Assistance (PA) required ten percent (10%) non-Federal match for municipalities, counties or public school districts in the nine (9) most impacted counties
