ORDINANCE: 03-16 (tabled from February 23, 2016) TITLE: AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF JACKSON, COUNTY OF OCEAN, STATE OF NEW JERSEY AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF JACKSON, SO AS TO AMEND CHAPTER 334 ENTITLED “RENT CONTROL FOR APARTMENTS AND MOBILE HOME PARKS”
Attorney Cipriani stated there were some concerns raised at the last meeting by Councilman Martin. We reviewed the ordinance again and have been in contact with the Rent Leveling Board and a revised draft has been sent to them. They will discuss this at their next meeting on March 10th. This ordinance is up for 2nd reading and if no one moves it, it will die. There have been a number of changes and given that the Rent Leveling Board will review to see if it will be given back in a revised form. Township Clerk Eden asked if Council will then continue with the public hearing and Attorney Cipriani stated it depends if anyone will move the ordinance. Council President Nixon asked if there is a motion to move Ordinance 03-16. Councilwoman Updegrave motioned however no second was received, therefore, the ordinance does not pass.
