# TOWNSHIP OF JACKSON RESOLUTION 233-2025

# RESOLUTION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF JACKSON, COUNTY OF OCEAN, STATE OF NEW JERSEY, AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 TO THE CONTRACT WITH MAGIC TOUCH CONSTRUCTION CO., INC., FOR CDBG RENOVATIONS AND ALTERATIONS FOR THE JACKSON TOWNSHIP SENIOR CENTER

WHEREAS, a contract was previously awarded to Magic Touch Construction Co., Inc., for CDBG Renovations and Alterations for the Jackson Township Senior Center; and

WHEREAS, the original contract for furnishing the Modular Storage Units for the Food Bank at the Senior Center, including Alternate Bids 1 & 2, was in the amount of $207,300.00; and

WHEREAS, the governing body wishes to authorize Change Order No. 1, which will result in an increase of $35,379.86 in the contract price, consisting of additional work for Front Entrance Door Replacement and installation of acoustic ceiling tiles; and

WHEREAS, this change order has been recommended by the Township Engineer and agreed to by the contractor; and

WHEREAS, this change order amounts to a total less than 20% of the original contract awarded to the contractor; and

WHEREAS, it is the desire of the governing body to authorize this change order.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the governing body of the Township of Jackson, County of Ocean, State of New Jersey as follows:

1. That the governing body does hereby authorize the execution of Change Order No. 1 to the contract with Magic Touch Construction Co., Inc., for CDBG Renovations and Alterations for the Jackson Township Senior Center, which will result in an increase of $35,379.86 in the contract price from $207,300.00 to $242,679.86 consisting of additional work for additional work for Front Entrance Door Replacement and installation of acoustic ceiling tiles, as shown on Schedule A attached hereto and made a part hereof.

2. That the Mayor and Township Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an addendum to the contract with Magic Touch Construction Co., Inc., in accordance with the provisions of this resolution.

3. That a certified copy of this resolution, together with a copy of the addendum to the contract between the parties, be forwarded to the Chief Financial Officer, the Township Engineer and Magic Touch Construction Co., Inc.
