# TOWNSHIP OF JACKSON RESOLUTION 216-2025
## AUTHORIZING THE CANCELLATION OF TAX SALE CERTIFICATE #10-00016 & 14-00012 ON BLOCK 1301 LOT 13
WHEREAS, Block 1301 Lot 13 went to tax sale for the delinquent 2013 taxes and Tax Sale Certificate 14-00012 was sold to the Township of Jackson on 10/1/2014 and;
WHEREAS, the delinquent 2009 taxes went to tax sale in 2010 and Tax Sale Certificate 10-00016 was sold on 10/7/2010 to a 3rd party lien holder, and;
WHEREAS, the current Assessor found that the property had the wrong ownership and in turn changed it to state the Township of Jackson is the current owner. The parcel is now exempt on the Assessment records, and;
WHEREAS, the Tax Sale Certificate was sold in error and now needs to be undone, along with the lien holder being reimbursed and the tax sale certificate cancelled in the county.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Township Council of the Township of Jackson, in the County of Ocean, State of New Jersey as follows:
1. The Tax Collector is directed to process a refund for Tax Sale Certificate #10-00016 in the amount of $174.33 to be deposited in the Collectors Lien Trust Account.
2. The Tax Collector is directed to request the Lien Holder surrender the Certificate, properly endorsed for cancellation and pay the lienholder $174.33 from the Collectors Lien Trust Account.
3. The Tax Collector is directed to mark Certificate #10-00016 as cancelled on the Township records and have the Certificate cancelled on the records of the Ocean County Clerk.
4. The Tax Collector is directed to mark Certificate #14-00012 as cancelled on the Township records and have the Certificate cancelled on the records of the Ocean County Clerk.
