TOWNSHIP OF JACKSON RESOLUTION 132-2025 RESOLUTION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF JACKSON AUTHORIZING THE RE-APPOINTMENT OF PETER MAHER AS TAX ASSESSOR

WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-146, a municipality shall provide for the appointment of a tax assessor; and

WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 40A:9-148 provides that a municipal tax assessor shall hold his office for a term of 4 years from the first day of July next following his appointment; and

WHEREAS, Peter Maher was duly appointed as Tax Assessor for the Township of Jackson and his appointment is expiring June 30, 2025;

WHEREAS, the Mayor and Township Council desire to reappoint Peter Maher to the position of Tax Assessor, effective July 1, 2025, thereby granting tenure to Peter Maher under N.J.S.A. 54:1-35.31.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Township Council

of the Township of Jackson, County of Ocean, State of New Jersey:

  1. That Peter Maher is reappointed to the position of Tax Assessor, effective July 1, 2025, which shall grant Peter Maher tenure under N.J.S.A. 54:1-35.31.
  2. That a certified copy of this Resolution shall be forwarded to the following:
  3. Director, Division of Taxation;
  4. Administrator, Board of Taxation;
  5. Jackson Township Business Administrator; and
  6. Peter Maher
