# RESOLUTION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF JACKSON, COUNTY OF OCEAN, STATE OF NEW JERSEY APPOINTING THE LAW FIRM OF DASTI & STAIGER AS TAX FORECLOSURE ATTORNEY FOR THE TOWNSHIP OF JACKSON THROUGH A NON-FAIR AND OPEN PROCESS
WHEREAS, the Township of Jackson (“Township”) has determined a need to appoint a qualified law firm to provide legal services related to tax foreclosure matters; and
WHEREAS, the Township Chief Financial Officer has determined and certified in writing that the value of the contract may exceed $17,500; and
WHEREAS, this contract is to be awarded as a non-fair and open contract pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 19:44A-20; and
WHEREAS, the anticipated start term of this contract is for one (1) year, commencing on January 1, 2025 and ending on December 31, 2025, unless extended or terminated earlier by the Township; and
WHEREAS, the law firm of Dasti & Staiger ("Dasti & Staiger") has submitted a proposal indicating that they will provide the necessary legal services for an amount not to exceed $160.00 per hour and all rates utilized are provided for in the contract between Dasti & Staiger and the Township; and
WHEREAS, Dasti & Staiger have completed and submitted a Business Entity Disclosure Certification, which certifies that no reportable contributions have been made to a political or candidate committee in the Township of Jackson in the previous year, and that the contract will prohibit them from making any reportable contributions through the term of the contract; and
WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that sufficient funds are available for this purpose in the Township's budget; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Township Council of the Township of Jackson, County of Ocean, State of New Jersey, as follows:
1. The Township of Jackson hereby awards a non-fair and open contract to Dasti & Staiger to provide tax foreclosure services.
2. The Mayor and Township Clerk are authorized to execute a contract with Dasti & Staiger in accordance with the terms of their proposal.
3. This contract is awarded in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A:11-5 and N.J.S.A. 19:44A-20.5 as a non-fair and open contract.

4. A copy of this resolution, along with the executed contract and Business Entity Disclosure Certification, shall be maintained on file with the Township Clerk and be available for public inspection.
5. The Township Clerk is hereby directed to publish notice of this award as required by law.
6. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
