President Flemming stated feelings aside, this building cannot be salvaged. It would not be financially feasible or prudent for us to do it and he understands the historical pieces. Councilman Chisholm stated if you have any suggestions we are getting ready to have a committee and there will be members and Councilman Saucikie and himself are supposed to serve. If you have specific ideas once the committee is formed, by all means bring them to us. For safety and other purposes that building needs to come down regarding a foot print or something else has not been determined. Ms. Hannum wanted to know how to apply for the committee. Councilman Sauickie advised she can fill out a citizen's leadership form found on the Township website. We're going to choose members right now it is set up for ten. Proposed in the ordinance would include an educator from town. As well as an historian from Pathfinders (who has already responded) and Green Acres. We think there is a lot of history preserved around the history but is also in an educational way. The footprint as mentioned by Councilman Chisholm is part of the subcommittee within the feedback. He has been in the building and it has an asbestos and water damage problem and we will preserve whatever we can. The subcommittee will determine what can be preserved and keep involving the ongoing use of the property.

Before coming to the meeting Ms. Hannum emailed Council a link with Grants for Historical Preservation both National and State and would like Council to look into them.
