• What were the plans and goals for public education and outreach for the reporting period?
• Within the limitations of COVID-19 mitigation protocols, Erie County Department of Planning planned to increase public awareness of impaired streams in Millcreek Township and engage the public in proactive runoff reduction and mitigation. Social media played an important role in this outreach, as many yearly in-person events could not proceed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

• Identify specific plans and goals for public education and outreach for the upcoming year:

Due to COVID-19, Erie County Planning Department will continue its public awareness campaign via social media and contributions to municipal newsletters; virtual demonstrations for teachers and students from local schools will be attempted, as well as workshops and presentations; businesses will be reached by letter, self-inspection checklists, and stormwater BMP information; municipal staff education will continue with virtual workshops. Medium of outreach and public education is dependent on pandemic status.
