SARASOTA MANATEE AIRPORT AUTHORITY RESOLUTION GROUND TRANSPORTATION RULES AND REGULATIONS

A RESOLUTION OF THE SARASOTA MANATEE AIRPORT AUTHORITY; Amending the “Sarasota Bradenton International Airport Operating Rules and Regulations”, Appendix A, “Ground Transportation Operating Rules and Regulation”, by incorporating therein Section 3.6, “Commercial Vehicle Fees”.

WHEREAS, the Sarasota Manatee Airport Authority (the “Airport Authority”) is a body politic and corporate that is empowered pursuant to Ch. 2003-309, Laws of Florida, as amended, to acquire and operate airport facilities within the Counties of Sarasota and Manatee, and, as such is the owner and operator of the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (the “Airport”); and

WHEREAS, the Airport Authority has established Operating Rules and Regulations for the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport, as last approved by the Airport Authority on May 20, 2019 (the "Operating Rules and Regulations"); and

WHEREAS, “Appendix A” of the Operating Rules and Regulations contains specific Ground Transportation Operating Rules and Regulations, as last approved by the Airport Authority on August 28, 2017; and

WHEREAS, the Airport Authority incurs capital, operating and maintenance costs to furnish, operate and maintain vehicle roadways, parking lots, queuing areas, staging areas and other ground transportation facilities, to accommodate Commercial Vehicle for hire operations at the Airport (the “Airport Facilities”); and

WHEREAS, the Airport Authority currently assesses certain Commercial Vehicle fees for the use of Airport Facilities by Commercial Vehicle for hire operators to contribute to the capital, operating and maintenance costs incurred by the Airport Authority, and the Airport Authority intends to continue to assess Commercial Vehicle fees for said costs; and

WHEREAS, the Airport Authority intends to establish Commercial Vehicle fees for the use of Airport Facilities by Commercial Vehicle for hire operators on an annual basis concurrent with the Airport Authority's adoption of its annual Operating Budget;

  • NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Sarasota Manatee Airport Authority that:
  • The above stated recitals are true and correct and are fully incorporated herein.
  • The following Section is fully incorporated in Appendix A, Ground Transportation Operating Rules and Regulations, of the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport Operating Rules and Regulations, as stated here below.

3.6 Commercial Vehicle Fees

Commencing October 1, 2021, and continuing indefinitely thereafter, except as may be amended by the Authority from time to time, Commercial Vehicle for hire operators shall pay to the Airport Authority Commercial Vehicle Fees for the use of Airport Facilities and the privilege to conduct Commercial Vehicle for hire operations on the Airport.
