===== PAGE 1 ===== ## Project Description The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is proposing improvements along Orange Blossom Trail (U.S. 17-92/U.S. 441 (State Road (S.R.)) 500), from Mary Louis Lane at the Osceola County line to south of W. Taft Vineland Road in Orange County. The purpose of this project is to extend the service life of the roadway and enhance safety for pedestrians and drivers along the corridor. Proposed improvements include: - Resurfacing all travel lanes to extend the service life of the roadway. Extending the northbound left-turn lanes at Stable Drive and Central Florida Parkway to improve traffic flow. - Improving the traffic signals to include new signal heads with reflective backplates and new pedestrian signals. Upgrading pedestrian signals to allow for Leading Pedestrian Intervals (LPI) at specific locations to allow people to begin crossing while traffic is stopped. - Evaluating and reconstructing pedestrian curb ramps as needed along the corridor to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. • Updating pavement markings and signage to guide both drivers and pedestrians.
