In preparation for its decennial reaffirmation accreditation, the institution noted several versions of its mission statement which had not been edited for grammar or syntax. Following campus-wide input and internal ratification, the final edited mission statement was approved by the Kentucky State University Board of Regents. A crosswalk between earlier versions of the mission statement and the final edited mission statement was included."
