Progressive discipline is also used to establish that certain behavior is unacceptable. As to the latter, and despite Dr. Stokes' protests, she should have known that each of her behaviors was unacceptable. As to the former, KSU let her know after each incident that her actions were unacceptable. In each case, she was not unaware that KSU disagreed with her action. To the contrary, KSU administrators told her the behavior they expected and she belligerently refused to accept those administrators' supervision.",
