Only after an affirmative judgment about teaching effectiveness has been made shall serious consideration be given to an evaluation of scholarship and service. Teaching effectiveness includes current knowledge of one's discipline and is also demonstrated through but not limited to, course planning, preparation of assignments and examinations, and evaluations by peers, students, and the Chairperson or Dean.
