Downing, chair of the School of Education, has been appointed as a member of PARC, which is charged with reviewing current program approval and accreditation processes and then making recommendations for improving those processes. PARC's work will address recent legislation, EPSB committee recommendations, the changing accreditation landscape and a desire to improve the efficiency of program approval and the value of the accreditation process to identify high-quality educator preparation programs."
