            "text": "There are potentially Fifty-three (53) students in the 2009 cohort that could graduate during the 2014-15 academic year. The team consisting of (Dr. Tucker Landy, Ms. Debra Lanier, Ms. Carmella Conner and Dr. Beverly Downing) is currently working in the following way: Monitoring the progress of those currently enrolled during the Fall for December graduation and those that will be enrolled in Spring 15 for May graduation. Those not enrolled are being evaluated for the Liberal Studies degree to determine their completion status. The team along with staff in the Academic Persistence Center, are also making calls to get those not enrolled, back into school to complete remaining requirements. Those who are not in school have in common the exhaust of their financial aid eligibility. In 2013, the general education requirement was reduced from fifty-eight (58) credit hour to the current forty-two (44) credit hour requirement. The team is evaluating each student in the 2007 cohort to determine if changing their program from the 2007 requirement to the 2013 requirement would shorten their time to degree. These students are also being given the option to return, when they have funds available to complete the needed coursework to earn the degree of choice. These students will be informed by letter from the Office of the Interim Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs, that the institution’s thirty (30) additional hour policy will be waived if they choose this option.
