Additionally, as the instructor of BIO 401 she spends a tremendous amount of time going over the formal seminars required of that course with each individual student. She has received numerous ratings of “exceeds expectations” from peer evaluations. Her student evaluations were usually slightly above the departmental mean, statements from students were primarily positive, and she addressed negative comments in her dossier. It was noted that a number of evaluations appeared to be missing from the portfolio although both Dr. Sluss and the chair, Dr. Bigdeli indicated there presence on the dossier checklist. The majority of the committee felt that her teaching evaluations were acceptable for promotion to professor, but the missing evaluations were the reason one member voted no."
