            "text": "I am submitting this memo to you regarding Dr. Stephen Ulrich's application for promotion to the rank of Associate Professor and application for Tenure. Review of this candidate's dossier was conducted in accordance with university policies and procedures set forth in the Faculty Handbook (Promotion and Tenure 2.1.533; 2.1.6 and 2.6.2.1; 2.6.1.4). The Unit Tenure and Promotion Committee from the School of Public Administration/Social Work/Criminal Justice recognized his five years of diligent service to the university and his impressive record of teaching effectiveness which they feel qualifies him for promotion. His overall ratings for effectiveness in the classroom are well above average. Dr. Ulrich has proven himself to be an enormous asset to the Division of Social Work which is in the unit of the School of Public Administration, Criminal Justice"

The overwhelming majority of students have high regard for him as professional and approachable. He is generally regarded as fair and willing to work with students in need of additional help outside the classroom. I have attended many of his lectures at random and he is always on time, prepared and willing to accept questions. He is an exemplary faculty member that provokes students to critically think, and respects students to feel free to ask questions."
