The purpose of the order is to enable enforcement of locally agreed and long-standing informal use restrictions of both car parks, which we have not been able to proactively enforce to date. This has led to issues with the Gannel Car Park in particular and negatively impacted on the neighbouring properties. Height barriers the authority installed, did help reduce some of the issues, but overnight camping remains a problem for which this order would help provide a more proactive framework for enforcement."
