"text": "A majority of the site is disturbed. The forested areas are vegetated with a composition typical of the region. The forested areas on site consist solely of uplands and can currently be characterized as an oak/pine upland forest. Overstory vegetation includes pitch pine (Pinus rigida), shortleaf pine (Pinus echinata), eastern red cedar (Juniperus virginiana), white oak (Quercus alba), and chestnut oak (Quercus prinus). Understory and subcanopy vegetation include species from the overstory and occurrences of sassafras (Sassafras albidum) and American holly (Ilex opaca). The herbaceous stratum contains occurrences of Japanses knotweed (Reynoutria japonica), teaberry (Gaultheria procumbens), huckleberry (Vaccinium membranaceum), lowbush blueberry (Vaccinium angustifolium), poison ivy (Toxicondendron radicans) and grasses (Poaceae)."

"text": "Vegetation on the project site consists primarily of previously disturbed upland areas associated with existing development, paved surfaces, and maintained open areas, with regulated wetland vegetation and associated buffer areas located primarily to the south and west of the parcel. No direct impacts to regulated wetlands or wetland vegetation are proposed, and all new construction, grading, and permanent improvements are confined outside mapped wetland boundaries and required buffer setbacks. Portions of the wetland buffer that were previously disturbed by unauthorized clearing and development activities are proposed to be restored and revegetated in accordance with the approved wetlands buffer restoration plan, resulting in an improvement in vegetative cover, habitat function, and long-term ecological stability. Temporary vegetation disturbance will occur within designated limits of disturbance during construction; however, these areas will be stabilized and replanted following completion of grading and infrastructure installation. The project is not expected to result in fragmentation of intact native vegetation communities or loss of regionally significant habitat, and overall impacts to vegetation communities are anticipated to be minor and manageable with implementation of restoration and stabilization measures."

The plan proposes the planting of shade trees, evergreens, shrubs and perennials along the front and side property lines and delineates the proposed limit of clearing along the rear property line. The plan specifies that existing vegetation, including New Jersey's record trees as identified by the NJDEP shall be incorporated into the landscape design, where practical. The plan also specifies that shrubs and trees authorized by N.J.A.C. 7:50-6.25 shall be used for revegetation or landscaping purposes."
