She confirmed if it still requires a sticker. Township Clerk Eden explained the sticker is a “check and balance” and the existing code requires my office update the no-knock registry monthly, however, we try to do it more often than that. If a solicitor sees the sticker, they shouldn’t approach (regardless of being on the most current registry). You’ll have to come in for the sticker or submit $1 through the mail and we will verify that an application has been submitted on behalf of that resident. The new online application is in a fillable format, however, this online registration will not result in a decal. It could take up to 30 days to place their names on that registry which is stated on the new application form. Council President Nixon stated it is for disclosure purposes. Township Clerk Eden stated it wasn’t on the initial form because most were handled in person. Ms. Kanis asked if Council could look into doing an email blast or a robocall to let the public know. Council President Nixon stated he would defer to Administration. Administrator Schlegel stated our reverse 911 is an emergency notification system which is not appropriate for this use. Ms. Kanis said she remembered getting calls for Jackson Day, etc.\n\nAdministrator Schlegel stated it’s been this way since she began and it has not been used for anything other than an emergency.
